COAL
Coal has come back to us to finish his gundog training. At 6 months old he was introduced to birds and loved hunting them in the open field. Coal is house trained and obediance trained.
Coal comes with a whole array of Field trial champions, Master hunters and national champions in his blood lines.
Coal was born on 12-23-07 . He is in training and will be ready to hunt upland and water foul birds in the 09 season. Coal is house trained and will only go to a family that wants the perfect house pet / hunter . Coal hunts using his eyes and will watch your bird drop to the ground while at a dead run. Add to that a nose that can pick up a downed bird at 20 yards and you have a boy you will be proud of.
Coal has spent his whole life around 5 to 8 other dogs and is VERY well socialized with others. He is not the ALPHA dog but will stand up for himself.
Right now Coal is in the open kennel with two 9 month old girls, Sasha and Sadie. If Sadie has her toy and Coal tries to take it, Sadie puts Coal in his place. If Coal has the toy and Sadie comes to get it, he will hold on for deer life but will not snap or fight. I have seen Coal stand his ground but it is a quick snap and growl with no further action. Kind of a BACK OFF warning.
As big as Coal is, he has never challenged me when correcting him. As of this date, 6/01/09, I am teaching Coal he is NOT a lap dog.
While in training Coal sits and waits his turn to fetch/hold the tossed bumper.
Coal has a place in his masters bedroom so do not plan on putting Coal in a kennel 9 months out of the year. This boy has a lot of love and devotion to share with his new owner.
What kind of SPIRIT does Coal have? Full of life and energy, loves to play fetch and returns to hand. He has the attitude of a much smaller dog and runs everywhere. Coal has learned not to jump and is learning to stand off and sit for attention. When you call him in for a hug he pushes in as much as he can. At 90 pounds, you had better be ready for him. Coal will turn on a dime and return when called. Tell him to SIT and his butt hits the ground.
